International Costa Maya Festival 2019
By now Belize is known for its umpteen festivals – food, culture, you name it – and the International Costa Maya Festival is no doubt the highlight of the country’s “La Isla Bonita.” Otherwise known as Ambergris Caye, La Isla Bonita will host its annual festival which spotlights delegates from all over Central America vying for the Costa Maya crown!
The festival, which originally debuted in 1992, is a testament to the celebration of the Maya World. This year, the international pageant will feature 8 empowering beauts from the alluring Mundo Maya countries of Belize, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua and Panama. Every year, these women grace the stage, stunning audiences with their innovative costumes and extraordinary talents.
Every year there is a headlining act, with last year being reggaetón icon Ivy Queen, and now Becky G will take the stage at La Isla Bonita, being arguably the biggest star since the festival’s origin. Becky G’s popularity was propelled by her single “Shower,” which led to the Top 20 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. She has collaborated with numerous well-known Latin artists, such as Pitbull and J. Balvin. Her most recent viral song was “Mayores,” and many Belizean fans can barely wait to see her live on July 27, 2019.
